Usually within a few days, and often sooner. Call us and we will tell you what we have. We work evenings and weekends, so an after work appointment is normal rather than a favour.

No. Measuring is our job and getting it wrong is expensive, so we would rather do it ourselves. A rough idea of which rooms you are thinking about is plenty to start.

We can give you a rough idea, but not a real quote. Photos do not show whether a subfloor is level or what is under the old covering, and those are the two things that decide the work. We will always come and look before we commit to a price.

Mostly four things. How much floor there is, what has to come out first, what shape the subfloor is in underneath, and whether there are stairs. Stairs are the big one: a staircase can take as long as a bedroom because every tread is cut on its own.

Moving your furniture, taking out and disposing of the old floor, underpad, transitions and trims, and a clean site when we leave. If something is not included we will say so at the quote, not at the end.

The quoted price is the price. The only time we would ever come back to you is if we open up the floor and find something genuinely hidden, like water damage or a subfloor that has to be replaced. In that case we stop, show you, and you decide before we carry on.

Stairs are quoted as part of the job, not bolted on afterwards. They take longer than flat floor for the same area, so they are measured and priced as their own piece of work.

No. Moving furniture is part of the job. It helps if small and fragile things are packed away, but the heavy lifting is ours.

We take it out and dispose of it. That is included, not an extra line at the end.

Most single rooms are a same day job. Stairs, whole floors and hardwood that has to acclimatise take longer. We will tell you which yours is when we measure, and we would rather give you a real answer than an optimistic one.

Usually yes. We work room by room where we can, so you are not locked out of the whole place. We will talk through the plan before the day so nothing catches you out.

Often. Condo work is as much about the building as the floor, so we book the elevator, protect the common areas and finish inside the hours the building allows. Tell us the building and we will sort the logistics.

It comes down to the room. Bedrooms and stairs suit carpet, which is warm and quiet. Kitchens, basements and entryways suit vinyl, which copes with water. Living rooms and hallways suit laminate or hardwood. We will tell you what we would put in our own house.

Usually not. Ripples normally mean the carpet needs restretching, which is a much smaller job than replacing it. We will say so rather than sell you a floor you do not need.

We can supply and install, or we can install flooring you have bought yourself. Tell us which you are planning when you call so the quote covers the right thing.

The plank itself is. A spill or a leak will not swell it the way it would swell laminate. Standing water can still get underneath through the seams, so it is water resistant as a floor rather than a seal.

Often yes, if the floor underneath is sound and flat. We check when we measure.

Laminate usually looks and feels closer to real wood. Vinyl handles water better. If the room is a basement, a kitchen or a bathroom, we will normally point you at vinyl.

Not if the subfloor is flat and the underlay is right. That is the part that gets skipped when a floor sounds cheap.

Mostly it comes down to what is underneath and where the room is. Concrete slabs, basements and many condos suit engineered. A wood subfloor above grade can take solid.

With a prefinished floor, usually the same day we finish. We will give you the real answer for your job when we quote.
